Abstract

Poster presented June 4, 2026, at the Nursing Knowledge Big Data Science Conference held in Minneapolis.

Learning Objectives:
1.    Describe socioeconomic and nicotine dependence–related correlates of lifetime classic psychedelic use among current tobacco users.
2.    Evaluate the predictive value of socioeconomic and multidimensional nicotine dependence–related behavioral manifestations to drug-specific psychedelic use patterns.
3.    Demonstrate the methodological rigor and robustness of hierarchical and survey-weighted regression modelling with socioeconomic and dependence-related behavioral correlates of classic psychedelic use behavior.

Introduction / Problem Description:  Classic psychedelics such as psilocybin, LSD, and mescaline/peyote are non-habit forming hallucinogens that are commonly used among tobacco users.2,4,6,8 However, socioeconomic status (SES) and nicotine dependence–related correlates remain under-researched.3,7,11 Understanding the influence of these factors on psychedelic use behavior is essential for both behavioral economic and extrapharmacological modeling of these compounds in nursing-led epidemiological investigations within this population.
