Abstract

It is impossible to separate clinical practice from the data, information, and technology that drive and support it. There is a continuing gap in informatics competency that is so significant it has been noted by:

  • The 2020-2030 Future of Nursing report
  • The updated American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Essentials of Nursing Education (2021) that now includes a newly added informatics domain.
